On this Volume, you will hear two of our longtime friends and collaborators, Mr. Jonny Lam (sinkane, OG TNR) on Pedal Steel and Mr. Brian Mitchell (Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble Band) on Keys. We also had some help from a few of our dear friends that you may have seen playing on stage in the band over the years. Mr. John Lee Shannon on Mandolin and Mr. Charlie Kessenich on Congas.
This EP contains songs that we have played on the road for the past four years but never had the chance to record, including a version of Taj Mahal’s “Corrina”, sung by our guitarist Jon Ladeau. You will also hear a version of (one of my all time favorite artists) Leon Russell’s tune “Ain’t No Love In The City” and a solo piano performance of “Motel La Grange” recorded off of Fred Short Rd in Saugerties, NY, just 2 days ago.
I believe that I can speak for the band in saying we are all extremely proud of this final Volume and are grateful for the chance to document what we have been able to do with some of the songs we love playing the most. We hope that listening will bring you the same joy it brought us to record these songs.
Happy Holidays,
